Hall Hire

We have three halls in St Michael’s Parish which are available for public use, all have catering facilities and a variety of accessibility provisions.

Memorial Hall (AL3 4SS)

The Memorial Hall is located on Branch Road, St Albans. It was built in 1925 to commemorate lives lost in World War I. The hall has a raised stage, a capacity of 150 people, and a private car park for around 20 cars, which makes it ideal for local activity groups, productions and children’s parties. There is a ramp to the front door to provide easy access for wheelchairs and buggies. This popular hall is very much in demand, and hired by the community 7 days a week.

Parish Centre (AL3 4SL)

The Parish Centre is located at the entrance to St Michael’s churchyard, and is directly opposite Verulamium Museum. It is a two storey building dating from 1973 with a combined capacity for 90 people split over the two levels, with easy access for wheelchairs and buggies via a tarmac ramp to the upstairs external door.

There is no on-site parking but there is a medium sized pay-and-display car park adjacent to the building. This hall is well-used by a variety of community-based groups, and is ideal for local children’s groups, crafts and meetings. This hall is available for use by the community 7 days a week.

St Mary’s Schoolroom (AL3 6JJ)

St Mary’s Schoolroom is a Victorian building attached to St Mary’s Church. It sits in the idyllic setting of the hamlet of Childwick Green, midway between St Albans and Harpenden. The hall has a capacity of 30 people, making it ideal for arts, crafts and meetings. It also has a private garden which is the perfect space if you prefer the outdoors. There is a small car park for around 6 cars, but alternative parking is available nearby. This hall is available for use by the community 7 days a week.
